For an insurance contract to commence, you have to provide evidence of the satisfactory state of health of the animal to be insured. Acceptable health documentation takes the form of:

  1. A current Veterinary Certificate, or
  2. An owner’s current Declaration of Health (which we provide to you), which can be completed and signed you or on your behalf by the person responsible for looking after your animal(s); no need for a veterinarian to be called out to examine the animal.

Which health document is required will depend largely on the value of the insured animal, its age and previous health history.
